Finally, the vehicle needs to go through a depollution process, to eliminate hazardous or toxic materials, and a dismantling process, to remove all components or parts that are reusable.

During the process of depollution of the vehicle, the following procedures are carried out:

• Removal of oil filters, batteries and GLP deposits (if applicable).
• Removal of fuel.
• Neutralization of the airbag and seat belt pretensioners.
• Removal of all oils from the gearbox and engine (e.g. engine oil and brake fluid);

 

Already in the process of dismantling is done the following:

• Removal of catalysts equipment’s, tires and glasses;
• Removal of plastic components and components likely to be reused (second-hand parts).

After this, the cancellation of registration in the government institutions has no associated cost and is done by the decommissioning entities of vehicles.
